A buyer guide to custom stand-up pouches, printed film, zipper placement, barrier needs, filling method, and common reasons pouches lean or leak.
Dry snacks, powders, supplements, and oily foods do not need the same film. Moisture, oxygen, light, aroma, oil, and expected shelf life determine the laminate. Ask for a proposed structure and the reason for it rather than choosing by thickness alone.
A stand-up pouch depends on the relationship between fill weight, width, bottom gusset, seal area, and product flow. A copied size may lean, bulge, or waste shelf space when the new product has a different density.
Zipper height must leave enough room for filling and top sealing. Tear notches, hang holes, windows, and rounded corners should be positioned after the seal and artwork zones are fixed.
Test the pouch with the real product and filling process. Check standing stability, zipper use, seal strength, odor transfer, drop behavior, and whether the artwork distorts around the gusset.
